ADMISSION POLICY
Ramarani Institute of Technology (RIT)

(Approved by AICTE, New Delhi; Affiliated to SCTEVT, Odisha)

Admissions to all programmes of Ramarani Institute of Technology (RIT) shall be made strictly in accordance with the policies, rules, regulations, and procedures notified from time to time by the Government of Odisha, All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), State Council for Technical Education and Vocational Training (SCTEVT), Odisha, OJEE Committee, and the affiliating University, as applicable. No admission shall be made in contravention of the centralized admission process.

1. Diploma Engineering Programmes (Regular)

Admission to Diploma Engineering programmes shall be made against 100% of the approved intake capacity, i.e., 120 seats per academic year (or as approved by AICTE/SCTEVT for the concerned session), through the Diploma Admission Process conducted by the Government of Odisha.

Candidates seeking admission must:

  • Have appeared in and obtained a valid rank in the Diploma Entrance Test (DET) / Diploma Admission Test notified for the academic year, and
  • Be allotted a seat through centralized counseling conducted by the competent authority.

Admissions shall be governed by the reservation policy, eligibility criteria, and fee structure as notified by the Government of Odisha and SCTEVT.

2. Tuition Fee Waiver (TFW) Scheme – Diploma Engineering

In addition to the sanctioned intake, supernumerary seats up to 5% of the approved intake shall be filled under the Tuition Fee Waiver (TFW) Scheme, strictly as per AICTE and Government of Odisha guidelines.

  • TFW admissions shall be made only through centralized counseling.
  • Eligibility shall be as per the criteria notified by the OJEE Committee / SCTEVT.
  • These seats shall not be converted to general seats under any circumstances.

3. Diploma Engineering – Lateral Entry (Second Year)

Admission to Diploma Engineering programmes under Lateral Entry Scheme shall be made against 100% of the approved lateral entry intake, i.e., 24 seats per academic year, through the centralized counseling process conducted by the Government of Odisha/SCTEVT.

Candidates must:

  • Possess a valid rank in DET (Lateral Entry) or equivalent examination as notified, and
  • Be allotted seats through the official counseling process.

Adjustment of Vacant Seats

As per the Government of Odisha policy, vacant seats of previous academic sessions, if any, shall be added to the Lateral Entry seat matrix for the current academic year, subject to availability of eligible candidates and notification by the competent authority.

4. Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) Programmes

(To be commenced from the Current Academic Year)

Admissions to B.Tech programmes at Ramarani Institute of Technology shall be made strictly through the centralized admission process conducted by the OJEE Committee, as applicable for the academic year.

Eligibility and admission shall be based on:

  • Valid rank obtained in JEE Main / OJEE or other examinations notified by the Government of Odisha,
  • Seat allotment through centralized counseling, and
  • Fulfillment of AICTE and University eligibility criteria.

Reservation norms, supernumerary seats (TFW/EWS/PwD), and fee structure shall be implemented as per Government notifications.

5. Master of Business Administration (MBA) Programme

(To be commenced from the Current Academic Year)

Admission to the MBA programme shall be made through the centralized admission process conducted by the OJEE Committee, in accordance with AICTE and Government of Odisha guidelines.

Candidates must:

  • Have a valid rank in OJEE / CAT / MAT / CMAT / XAT / ATMA or other approved national/state-level entrance examinations, as notified for the academic year, and
  • Be allotted a seat through centralized counseling.

Eligibility conditions, reservation policy, and fee structure shall be as prescribed by AICTE, the Government of Odisha, and the affiliating University.

6. General Conditions

  1. All admissions are provisional, subject to verification of original documents and approval by the affiliating authority.
  2. The Institute shall not admit students beyond the sanctioned intake, except supernumerary seats permitted under AICTE norms.
  3. Any change in admission policy issued by AICTE, Government of Odisha, SCTEVT, OJEE Committee, or the affiliating University shall be implemented automatically and shall supersede this policy.
  4. The decision of the competent admission authority shall be final and binding in all matters related to admission.
