





Central Library as a Comprehensive Academic Support System @ RIT
The Central Library of RIT was established in 2009. Since its inception, the Library has continuously expanded in terms of infrastructure, resources, services, and digital facilities in parallel with the overall growth of the Institute. At present, the Central Library functions as a knowledge hub, supporting teaching, learning, research, and career development activities of students, faculty, and staff.
The Library provides a free, congenial, and academically enriching environment conducive to learning, awareness, and intellectual growth.
The Central Library of RIT is a well-structured, resource-rich, and technology-enabled academic support system. With its extensive collection, digital integration, disciplined operations, and robust security measures, the Library fully complies with the requirements of AICTE and other statutory bodies, significantly contributing to the Institute’s academic excellence.

For Students
- Mandatory Library/Identity Card
- Silence strictly maintained
- Bag deposit at security desk
- Mobile phones switched off
- Reading: 2 books (same-day return)
- Lending: 4 books for 20 days
- Fine: ₹2/day (regular), 50 paisa/day (exam period)
- Damage/loss as per library rules
- Library clearance mandatory before examinations & course completion
For Faculty & Staff
- Maximum 10 books per semester
- 5 books at a time for reading (same-day return)
- Return before new semester begins
- Library card non-transferable
- Library clearance mandatory before leaving service
For Visitors
- Allowed with prior permission of Librarian
- Identity proof mandatory
